Orgins

So this will be the first of many installments where we introduce new cards and how we came about them. Lets start with why. Very simple really just my friend wanted to do it, i said i would do Mecha he said he would do Magical girls (other genre will be done in time) and we started to make cards. So lets get to it shall we. I first had to think how was i going to represent the Mecha, it took me a while to figure it out but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, here are some Mecha.

Well i decided to make it equipment for one major reasons, I really want to put pilots into this set. Because in the end what is a Mecha if it has no pilot.Just some machine, so i decided to do it this way. So lets look at some pilots

Personally, I'd say ditch the magical girl crap and make it all mecha. It's too strange to work to mesh that in.

There's going to be a large variety of themes represented. Once everything has it's form, we'll work on integrating them so they can work with each other.

I hope you do not intend on making it so that we have to use them together, because from the looks of it, I just want an all mecha deck. Also, how do you plan on distributing this if this is meant for people to actually play? Won't you get into trouble with Magic: The Gathering?

This won't be for sale or much less legal. Sure this is all copyright infringement, but this can be considered entirely a (playable) parody set.

For the most part you won't want to mix tribes in a single deck. What we mean by integrating them is that you'll have cards in either subset that will be effective against cards of another: like having artifact removal in sets outside the mecha set or enchantment removal outside the magical girl set.

One last thing: we're both working completely independently for now. Honsou is taking care of the mecha set while I initially started this with the magical girl set. We've decided to flesh these out before deciding on the next anime-themed subset and working on that.
So, yes there will be mecha (among others) and the idea is to have enough cards in each set to be able to make several different decks for slightly different forms of play.

Don't worry you wont have to mix the tribes, you will easily be able to make a all mecha deck. Hell there is even a chance you will be able to make a all gundam deck, or maybe a all evangelion deck(that would be harder). And its not illegal to make these cards, as many people do similar things. As long as we dont profit off this it is perfectly legal

Then it is you I am depending on to make Mazinger-Z/Mazinkaiser cards a reality. I actually find this pretty awesome and I actively check for updates, simply because I would want to play this. I understand these will not be for sale, but are these meant to be playable? How do you intend on distributing them to the masses?

@ medifam

I can actually answer that. The simplicity of how these will be distributed is simple: Once a set is done, we'll have several printable formats to download.

How much paper do you think that would use up exactly? Also, how would you do booster packs and such, that cards come at random?

@ medifam
Ah well there would be no booster packs or anything like that. but yeah you would have to print out the cards your selves and do what you like with them. Look at the cards and only print out the cards you like and make a deck out of them. Or a even better idea would be to print out the set and cube draft with them. (for what a cube is go here, http://www.tomlapille.com/cube/cube.html)
